PF Password Change Errors

Failed to send OTP. Please try after sometime

It’s likely due to temporary server issues on EPFO’s end. Here’s how to get back on track:

  1. Wait It Out: Give it 5-10 minutes to see if the issue resolves itself.
  2. Switch to UMANG App: If the error persists, seamlessly access the portal via the UMANG app. It offers an alternative and often smoother experience.

Failed to send OTP EPFO

Name Mismatch? Update via Employer (1-2 Months)

If there is a name mismatch, Name your entered to reset your password as well as the actual name on the PF portal then EPFO UAN portal doesn’t allow you reset the passwords! You can ask your employer to update the Name but the quickest way is to find what’s the name on your EPFO records from your employer and use the same to update the password, then update the same via UAN Self service

Aadhaar Mismatch in UAN

An Aadhaar mismatch in your UAN can block password resets. Get your employer to update your Aadhaar through their portal. Once it’s updated in the UAN try resetting your UAN password (You may need to check with your employer on the update status as there is no way you can know the status of Aadhaar update)

Date of Birth Discrepancy

If your date of birth entered is not matching with the name in the EPFO records then you won’t able to change your password. Check with your Employer on what’s your Date of Birth and try to make your employer update correct date of birth in the EPFO portal.

Passbook Login not working? Wait 6 Hours After UAN Reset

Remember, the UAN member portal and Passbook portal share the same password. If you have recently reset your UAN password, wait 6 hours before attempting to log in to the Passbook portal with the new password!!

 Aadhaar Authentication Error

If you get an “Error while AADHAAR authentication” message, then wait for some time and then try again! This temporary glitch on EPFO’s end usually resolves itself.
