Single Emergency Helpline Number “112” launched for India

India like US and other countries is finally getting a single helpline number for multiple services like Fire,Police and Ambulance.

The helpline number will be activated across the country next year fully and it will be pre-programmed into phones. The ‘112’ number is an integration of Police (100), Fire (101) and Women (1090) helpline numbers. 

Government’s aim is to provide all these services through a single helpline.In addition to the Health helpline number “108” also soon will be integrated into this service.

As of now these 16 states will get the helpline number ” Andhra Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, Andaman, Dadar Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu and Jammu and Kashmir.”
