Dubai Transit Visa for Indians

If you are an Indian Passport Holder and you don’t hold any of US B1/B2 Visas, US Green Card, UK and European Union Residency permit, then you need to apply for Transit Visa to transit through Dubai, Abu Dhabi airports. Transits Visas can be either 48 or 96 hours Visa and it can be applied only through Emirates & Etihad airlines as they are the 2 major carriers in the region.

If you are an Indian Passport holder and if you have a US B1/B2 Visa or Green Card, (or) if you hold UK/EU Residency permit then transit visa is not required for flying through Dubai or Abu Dhabi airports! There are different types of Transit Visa namely 48 hour and 96 hour Visa. Even if your stop over is for 4 hrs then you need to apply for it.. 48 hours (2 days) Transit Visa is free of cost whereas for a 96 hour visa, the charge is AED50.

According to UAE Government, the transit should be applied only through UAE-based airlines and must be p approved before the passenger enters Dubai/UAE. Both types of transit visas are not extendable.
